Serious disgust, let down and lied to: with how Open Mic was HOSTED, ran and sign-up on Monday, November 21st, 2011!!!!
**My friend and I were told at the previous Monday November 14th, 2011 Open Mic to show at 7:30 (or close) and to sign up at 7:45pm.
***We checked in with the HOST at 7:40pm and she said sign-up was at 7:45pm, then we checked in at 7:46pm and the HOST said sign-up was at 8:00pm, then we had checked in at 8:00pm as we were told a 3rd time by the HOST and she said they were full and there was no more room for the evening. What a waste of our time, traveling to see some artist and we had some poetry to read that is being implemented into songs. What a joke!

I want to go to this. I really want to go. However, the bad news is that this is the same night as a Bon Voyage thing for our friends who are moving to Australian. The good news is that their event starts at 4 and the other good news is that it's not that far from Three Friends. I'm going to do my best.

This open mic evening was my first at Three Friends. I was totally overwhelmed by the high caliber of the poets, stand up comedy and musical talent. One of the best evenings ever so fulfilling. The recent Supreme Court ruling allows the unchecked flood of special interest money into the races so who really votes for our "elected officials"? Thank for this lighted hearted look at such a serious assault on the democratic process and great acting!! We always thought our sister Mikki should persue comedy as well as her dramatic self...
